Advantages of Correct Tire Pressure
Maintaining the correct tire inflation has its many advantages. The advantages of having correct tire inflation are, but are not limited to:
- A significant difference in your vehicle’s fuel economy
- Your vehicle will handle better
- Your tires will wear differently, for the better
- Proper tire inflation can prevent accidents, keeping you and your loved ones safe
Know the right pressure for your tires
Tires may fail if not inflated to the proper inflation. It also takes a lot more energy to keep the tires rolling, which is why it takes more fuel when driving with under-inflated tires. Know the correct pressure that is recommended on your vehicles’ tires. You can check in your owner’s manual of your vehicle to know for sure.
Always be on the look out for anything different while driving. If your car pulls to one side or you hear ticking while driving, or you notice a bulge in the side of your tire, replace the tire with the spare and bring it in to be checked and repaired. You may want to get into the habit of looking over your tires before you get into your vehicle.
You may want to have your own tire gauge handy, but make sure you know how to use it properly. You can always come by and we can show you how its used and show you the best place to store it. Store it inside your glove box or the side pocket of your door, you can even store in your trunk. Be sure it wont fall out when you open your door if you choose to store it there. Having the tire gauge handy will allow you to be able to check your tires regularly, and right away when you may suspect any under-inflation.
Proper tire pressure is the best way to get the most out of your tires
Most vehicles will have the factory recommended tire pressure on the driver’s door pillar, or you can check in the vehicle owner’s manual as mentioned above. If you’re not sure about the pressure of your tires, feel free to stop by Gary’s Automotive any time and we will be happy to check your tire pressure for you, and don’t forget to check the spare tire also.
